Welcome Dome Drum Circle

In 2020, multi-instrumentalist Machado Mijiga released an album/video project called “Journal,” uniting 24 of his favorite drummers to record duets with him remotely and bring together the drum community in a time of crisis.

Now, in 2022, Mijiga brings together a small community of drummers in-person to participate in a drum circle, where ideas are shared in a Call-and-Response manner, and the individual voices of Portland’s finest drummers are highlighted in a tradition that is thousands of years old.
